Scott is the founder and President of Tango Enterprises, a software consulting firm founded in 1997 and based in Vienna, Virginia. He has over 13 years of experience in sophisticated modeling, analysis, and software development.
Scott has designed and completely developed a customized order entry and fulfillment system for electronic high-resolution satellite imagery full-cycle for OrbImage Corporation. Other contract work involved upgrading a 3-D modeling software for Microcadam and enhancing functionalities for a mission planning system for Fairchild Defense. Starting in 1997, Scott also contracted as a part-time instructor of Microsoft's Component Object Model (COM) as well as Active Template Library (ATL) for DevelopMentor thus keeping his skills up-to-date and being involved with cutting edge software development techniques.
Through Axiom Corporation in 1996-1997, he became a key team player for design, development, and implementation on Orbital's fighter aircraft mission planning system.
His responsibilities at Booz Allen and Hamilton from 1989-1996 included development, analysis and implementation of extensive simulation software for a light railway system project in London as well as projects on the Operational Satellite Constellation Availability and Reliability Simulation (OSCARS) to evaluate potential communications networks for the Strategic Defense Initiative, simulation of the Multiple Attack Configuration and assessment of far-term Soviet threats. During that time, Mr. Butler has published four papers and received two prestigious professional awards.
Scott holds a B.S. in Physics from George Mason University (1988) where he was the Outstanding Junior and Senior Physics Student.
